Course development extended to training for middle level Intelligence Managers. Organisational development. The redesign of the Air Force Intelligence organisational structure was my project. This included the development and implementation of a retrenchment process.Training. Due to my appointment it was expected of me to serve with the SADF Intelligence Training Council which coordinated all Intelligence training, determined training strategies and developed/approved training program and course curricula. I was part of the task team which developed Air Force Intelligence courses and study matter for senior level Intelligence Managers. As Commanding Officer it was my responsibility to create, implement and evaluate the training programs and manage a project developing an Electronic unit with related hardware.Human Resources management. As Senior Staff Officer responsibilities included recruitment, selection, placement, strategic career management, training and development as well as retrenchment of personnel. I served with the Intelligence Command Council as member and as advisor with respect to personnel and related matters including organisational and leadership development, labour related matters, rationalisation and training.Special duties and projects. It was expected of me to do special tours which included being a negotiator on the second level Joint Monitoring Commission (JMC) of South Africa, Angola and Cuba. I have also served as a representative on liaison committees between government and semi-government institutions on a national level for the JMC.
