I managed HALO's government relations in DC. This primarily included overseeing our numerous grants with USDoS and USAID and liaising with Congress and other government agencies as needed. I dabbled in R&D partnerships when opportunities arose.

I managed the HALO Trust program in Somalia. Based in Mogadishu, we cleared landmines and unexploded ordnance in the newly-formed Hirashabelle and Galmudug states. The program operational responsibilities included performing technical survey to locate and map hazardous areas, clearing hazardous areas, explosive ordnance disposal, and providing risk education for at-risk communities. Programmatic responsibilities included liaising and reporting to donors and the UN Mine Action Service, developing and implementing budgets, and monitoring all program administrative procedures.

I managed operations for the HALO Trust in Savannakhet Province, Laos. The program operational responsibilities included technical survey to locate unexploded ordnance (UXO) and map hazardous areas, clearance of hazardous areas, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). At the time, the Laos program employed 250 staff, comprised of ten clearance and fourteen technical survey teams.
