I am a versatile software developer with over a decade of solid development experience, spanning various platforms and environments. I enjoy all the phases of the SDLC, from the requirements gathering and analysis stages and the interaction with people and business normally involved, through the more technical design and implementation phases, all the way to testing, training and even support. The bulk of my experience was obtained in the Microsoft arena, mostly developing .net applications, using C# mainly, typically coupled with a bit of scripting and CSS and mostly using MS SQL for persistence. I've also worked with other languages and platforms like Google’s App Framework, Python, Mongo, implementing analytics. I have a lot of experience with MS technologies, including Windows Forms, WPF (love this tech), WCF and WebAPI, but lately I spend most of my time on web-based applications, mostly using MVC with MVVM or a derivative. I’ve had an exciting career, working in lots of different environments and industries, on all sorts of projects, each with their own challenges, keeping me on my toes through a learning curve that would never level out completely, resulting in valuable experience.I enjoy working in dynamic environments, therefore favour Agile methodologies such as SCRUM. It is important to me to work in a collaborative environment, where knowledge sharing and personal growth is encouraged and be part of team that embraces the awesome tools and patterns available to improve the development process and ensure the quality of solutions. That said, I enjoy working closely with the business side or end users. To me, it is important to understand the overall vision and objectives of the businesses I work with, because software by itself is worthless, but seeing where it adds value to real-life business processes, is what makes me so passionate and proud of what I do.
