Hello. I'm a South African-born 50-something with three decades' of experience in magazine publishing, specialising in endurance sports.But in the words of Yogi Berra, 'Change is here to stay'. Now I explore my love and fascination for the natural world – and many of the offshoots that it gifts us – through my writing. I share the insights I've learned from years of growing an appreciable percentage of my food, reading books and online articles, and watching thousands of hours of content on topics as diverse as permaculture, investing, longevity, veganism, ecology, rainforests, and botany. I've travelled to around 20 countries in Central and South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia since 1987, and have noted that we humans are facing some major challenges, as we take more and more from the natural world.
