Mark DePace was born in the Hudson Valley and found a passion for film, video, music, and all forms of media at a young age. His interests led him to New York University where he studied at Tisch School of the Arts. While in school, he began his professional career, creating music videos for bands that he liked. In need of a “real company”, he joined forces with Zach Mortensen and initiated Ghost Robot’s ascent into the short-form content space. After making music videos for innovative musical artists such as Björk, Grizzly Bear, RJD2, and The Rapture, he shifted the company's focus to commercial work, capitalizing on the downturn of the 2008 economy and the rise of digital content. Since joining Ghost Robot, his keen eye for talent and penchant for creative exploration has helped shape the ethos of the company and developed a portfolio of best-in-class work. Under his leadership, the company has evolved to offer fully integrated strategy and creative, serving clients such as Google, Netflix, Mailchimp, and Shopify.In addition to his duties at Ghost Robot, Mark has served as a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute, adjunct faculty at New York University, and a fellow at the Pratt Center for Economic Development. In 2018, he returned to his roots in the Hudson Valley where he opened sister shop Friendly City Creative Club, got elected to the local school board, and bought a ferry boat.
