I am in the process of updating Olson Oil’s network and infrastructure for PCI DSS compliance. Future plans include adding new hardware and storage to meet their needs for the next three to five years.

In my 13 year employment, Cash Depot grew from 45 employees to nearly 200, and 500,000 transactions per month to over 12,000,000! I spent my first six years at Cash Depot as Director of IT. I managed a network admin, a programmer, and a help desk specialist. Together, we built a secure network infrastructure, setup a disaster recovery site, and evolved the ATM network to support cloud based processing, both private and public. Along the way, we implemented PCI PIN, PCI DSS, and an ATM monitoring system. I was a “hands on” director, in which I was involved with all aspects in IT, including programming, DBA, network architecting, processor conversions, and many implementations. I stepped down from this role in September of 2012 to accept the position of Technology Architect. This allowed me to focus my skill-sets on the technical aspects of the business. In my role as Technology Architect, I worked with the business and IT team to increase capacity and improve availability of services as the business grew. As the IT departments’ firefighter, I took care of performance related issues with the transaction processing environment, including SQL Server performance problems. In 2013, Cash Depot acquired the ATM acquirer wholesale portfolio from First Data Corp. It was a daunting task, but we overcame all adversity and migrated over 30,000 ATMs during the summer months in 2014. From 2014 to 2019, I mentored other team members in sql programming and transaction processing operations. I have also been involved in many projects, one of them planning and implementing a process conversion for over a thousand Diebold ATMs at various Walmart locations.

This is the job where I cut my teeth in programming VB, MSSQL, JavaScript, and Cold Fusion. Their broad scope of services they offered and their ever changing business helped me get where I am today.
