•Reviewed and processed grant applications for businesses that were impacted by COVID-19•Interacted and worked with local workforce entities and businesses throughout Memphis and Shelby County in order to build a better and robust workforce throughout the community and with private businesses•Worked with the Memphis Chamber of Commerce on matters that involved economic and workforce development within the City of Memphis and Shelby County. •Performed duties that required me to engage with business owners, local colleges, and various elected officials in efforts of growing a robust workforce within the City of Memphis, and for Shelby County, TN. •My responsibilities included developing specialized-training skills, evaluating current workforce systems, and assessing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion concerns within the workplace. •I served as the primary and initial point of contact for a new project with EDGE that offered COVID resource funding to those businesses that sustained financial hardships and that are located throughout an impoverished, low-income and distressed areas within the City of Memphis. (This project was known as the NEED (Neighborhood Emergency Economic Development) Grant.) •The NEED Grant was for a total $1,000,000, and it focused on job loss prevention for employees, who otherwise would have been dislocated. I helped over 112 businesses receive a total of $631,700, in NEED funds, with 82% percent of those businesses being Minority, Women and Black Enterprises (MWBE).

•Audited employee’s case files to ensure proper adherence of both state and federal regulations and laws.•Audited and reviewed case agency files that were associated with all TANF funding to ensure proper allocation of Federal and State dollars, programs and services for TEA clients.•Advised division managers and their subordinate-staff on deficiencies and policy violations, as well as made findings and took corrective actions against divisional managers and staff members in order to bring the division and agency back into compliance.•Ensured that departmental and federal protocols were being properly followed and enforced by staff.•Served as a Quality Assurance auditor, and reviewed random case files for internal and external fraud.•Monitored external vendors and sub-award grant recipients for performance accountability and compliance regulations of Uniform Guidance, TANF, WOIA and CFR.•Ensured proper program oversight was performed and program funding was extended for Workforce Development.
