q-cal is one central place for all LGBTQ+ events happening on Oʻahu! Available for both iOS and Android, this is a passion project built using KMP and is my first iOS app release!

Conducted an 8-week remote training program for software engineers at an international company on modern Native Android Development with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Developed and delivered a curriculum covering the Android SDK and dev tools, the Kotlin programming language, Ul development, data persistence in a database and Preferences, network requests, Android architecture, coroutines for background tasks, and much more. Utilized hands-on projects and homework assignments to reinforce learning and ensure practical application of concepts

- Remote, async team across worldwide time zones at this startup with cross-platform unified architecture. - Overhauled Analytics Client to track user behavior in a more granular manner (using the Segment API). - Learned and worked with Swift (iOS) to translate app elements to Android, and changed a feature in our iOS app from a 24 hour waiting period to a 7 day waiting period, which required becoming familiar with general Swift syntax, as well as guard statements and Swift DateComponents. Implemented feature flag for the change on both iOS and Android. - Held rotating release duties, responsible for ensuring a smooth release on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. - Led the charge and learned Compose on the job, while also educating more senior engineers along the way. Implemented several screens using Compose, while working with our designer through Figma. - Held primary responsibility for building a new feature using Compose, and implementing it with a new bottom nav bar tab. Integrated successfully with the app’s existing XML architecture. - Created Compose Previews for each possible state of the UI based on passed-in parameters, to get a complete overview all on one screen e.g. userSubscribed = true vs userSubscribed = false - Fixed bug causing Compose to not properly recompose upon MutableState value change. Required in-depth research but found the culprit was a third-party camera blur library. - Organized, researched, and saw through the smooth renaming transition of the “master” branch to “main” to maintain an inclusive, welcoming work environment, with no interruptions to any engineer’s work. Required educating others on git commands to be run on their local copy of the repo. Edited yaml workflows for GitHub Actions.

Troubleshoot home internet connections with customers. Shift lead (coordinator) assisting with other agents' questions, and listening to their recorded calls and giving feedback and/or disciplinary measures. Guided customers on how to power cycle, and sometimes enter command line prompts or change network panel settings in Windows. 90%+ success rate on calls.
