At Fluor, my role has been primarily in the design and testing of robotics for a unique project in the nuclear industry. my opportunities at Fluor include: -Programming an arduino to allow multiple linear actuators manipulate a robotic arm with a joystick -Testing the above mentioned arm to determine needed improvements. -Developing a remote operated mechanical arm using Inventor, -Prepared supporting design calculations using mathCAD. -Designing custom shielding mechanisms to block radiation using Inventor -Calculating orifice size for nozzles to ensure proper velocities with MathCAD -Providing PLC support to the lead I&C Engineer, -Analyze Particle fluidization and transfer using Barracuda by CPFD.

Designed, programmed and tested various versions of arduino based robotic arms used to remotely relocate radioactive material.Developed a control philosophy, selected instruments, and programmed a Siemens based PLC used to control a waste water treatment system. The System included an HMI, pumps, motor operated valves, a VFD, pressure and level switches, pressure and level transmitters, an autodialer and various lights and alarms. Performed start up testing and troubleshooting for a Siemens based PLC.Aided in the design of equipment used within nuclear hot cells. The equipment was designed to interface with mechanical manipulators and to sample spent fuel.Prepared engineering calculations using tools such as MathCAD.Developed and carried out test procedures that where part of a larger technical evaluation. the test procedures aided in validating a proposed solution.Aided in using the finite element analysis within Inventor to analyse containers. the FEA was used to determine possible repairs.Performed calculations for and designed an automated pump system to be used at a uranium mine reclamation project.
