• Administered sophisticated and diversified endowment portfolio consisting of U.S., non-U.S., and emerging markets equities, hedge funds, fixed income, public and private real estate, natural resources investments, private equity and venture capital investments, and cash. Endowment market value grew from $447 million to $651 million with an annualized rate of return of 16.1% during this time period.• Revised and implemented the University’s Statement of Investment Policies and Objectives (Investment Policy) which outlined target asset allocations (both short term and long term), set guidelines for investment managers, established endowment spending policy, and outlined performance benchmarks and portfolio monitoring procedures.• Created in-house investment performance reporting capability utilizing the analytic and performance monitoring tools available through the University’s custodian bank, Mellon, and its investment analytics provider, Mellon Analytical Solutions (formerly Russell/Mellon). Resulted in an annual savings of approximately $100,000 for the University.• Authored monthly and quarterly performance reports outlining endowment market value, asset allocation, and investment results for review by the Rector of the Board of Trustees, the President of the University, the Investment Committee, and the Treasurer’s Office staff.• Communicated daily with existing investment managers (30 managers across 43 separate funds) to evaluate investment performance relative to respective benchmarks and the managers’ mandates, cash draw expectations, growth of assets under management, organizational or sector changes, and investment outlook.• Researched endowment management options and discussed findings with the Investment Committee.
