At SLCC I worked on projects to design online certification courses in online teaching (designed with faculty in mind) and on how to use Canvas to build a student-friendly course. I also helped to facilitate each of these online courses/trainings. Several faculty and staff have since taken these trainings, with many positive reviews.I also review online courses using the Quality Matters rubric. The overall goal of this is to create quality, student-friendly online courses that help students demonstrate their mastery of the learning objectives.I also consulted with faculty to improve and develop their own online courses by enhancing the overall navigation and layout, creating measurable learning objectives, and assignments and other material that aligned with those objectives.

At WGU I've created trainings that utilized simple graphics and text to teach other instructional designers how to write math formulas and equations using LaTeX. Another training made use of good and bad examples to demonstrate how to write learning activities when designing courses. I have also designed online courses for students that included formative assessments, multimedia, and simulations to improve the student learning experience. All of these courses and trainings were focused on learning objectives that the learner was meant to achieve. These projects also required me to collaborate and receive feedback from coworkers and subject matter experts.

One of the goals of this course is to engage students in the exploration of relevant ideas. I also utilize Canvas Instructure LMS to enhance the course, utilizing modules, quizzes, and online discussions to deliver course material.

Instructor of college level Philosophy: Ethics and Values course. As an instructor of this course I have been able to develop the curriculum around various themes that relate to real-life issues that students may encounter. I have utilized the Canvas Instructor LMS to facilitate the delivery and organization of the course. I have also sought to incorporate backward design in the development of the course material.

I maintained this job while attending graduate school. I helped manage business, supervise and train employees. I was assigned various tasks as needed and was promoted throughout my time there.

This was a treatment center for youth ages 14-18. This position required me to be aware of and assist in the well-being of several students and their academic and emotional progress. I also led group discussions and wrote daily reports on student progress that were used as part of their treatment plan. In addition, I organized various activities to help the students with their progress.

Under the direction of program directors, I wrote several different case studies using Problem Based Learning theory. These case studies required me to research various community issues, write about them, and use them as a way to help students develop critical thinking and practical skills that could be applied as new college students. These case studies were used as part of a college freshman Student Development course. Throughout this process I was in constant contact with the program directors to make sure that the case studies would be useful and met the instructors objectives.
