Derek is a Prince2 6th edition Certified Practitioner with extensive experience in managing projects. His most recent experience is being program manager of all ICT projects that impact on Municipal Standard Chart of Accounts (mSCOA) throughout Buffalo City Metro (BCMM). Linked to this roll-out was the requirement to automate existing manual processes within the institution. This project systematically addressed those processes as well as other National Treasury requirements.Derek managed a team of 14 resources and had 25 active projects in process concurrently.From 2015 - 2018 Derek was part of a project management team that managed the initial implementation of mSCOA at BCMM in which his role was on the business process side as well as assisting with project management. He assisted BCMM with the implementation of mSCOA from inception to first phase compliance with Treasury mSCOA requirements.Derek has worked for many of the large Consulting houses including, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, EOH Consulting, SAHA International and Arthur Andersen and has fulfilled a project management role at most of the institutions listed above. Derek has been in management since 1991 in a range of roles and his operational experience is broad spanning both the private and public sector.He has done extensive training throughout his working career for various service providers as well as in-house training academies. He has been a facilitor for Honeyguide Training and Facilitation and The Leadership Development Institute in various fields.In May 2015 Derek completed the development of a 200 page Study Guide on Organisational Development and Change Management which forms part of a well known online Academy.
