In this position I am engaged in running the pipe stress department for the Elkview, WV Worley office. I budget, manage, analyze, check and approve calculations, write procedures and guidelines, and coordinate all aspects of pipe stress projects for both offices. While performing this position I have had the opportunity to be involved in multiple large scale capital projects in the chemical industries. Some of the major responsibilities I have in this role are,• Budget all pipe stress projects.• Coordinating the pipe stress design process from budget to final design.• Managing employees that assist in the design of pipe stress systems.• Analyze all pipe stress systems per ASME code for accuracy, safety, and reliability.• Establish inter-departmental meetings for cursory pipe stress review.• Communicate with clients through the design process.• Evaluate equipment nozzle loadings using Caesar II, Compress, or finite element analysis software such as Nozzle Pro.• Assist in establishing Worley engineering guideline procedural document for WV Operations pipe stress analysis.• Perform discipline checking and document approval.• Provide multi-disciplinary training in stress documentation, calculations, and procedures.• Operate as a Specialist using technical calculations and knowledge to provide solutions to unique industry needs.

I also perform mechanical engineering tasks such as static and rotating equipment design, HVAC, and solids handling. Some of the major responsibilities I have in this role are.• Performing fundamental HVAC calculations per code.• Evaluating seals, flush plans, and lubrication for rotating equipment.• Analyzing ASME pressure vessels and API storage tanks per code requirements.• Writing specifications and requisitions for various pieces of equipment.• Assist in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects.• Direct activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications.

I have been currently involved in a major contract through CDI that consists of pipe stress analysis of two chemical plants. My responsibilities during this project were,• Wrote code in VBA to perform calculations in order to reduce pipe stress analysis time by 10%.• Applied ASME B31.3 process piping code standards to calculate and confirm provided information on piping systems.• Modeled in Caesar II• Assisted in training new employees to perform pipe stress system evaluations.• Analyzed Finite Element Analyses on various styles of piping supports.• Verified vendor equipment drawings to CAD (Caesar) model.• Verified client calculations used in determining allowable loadings for various pipe shoes.• Coordinated with Civil Engineering group to resolve various issues associated with piping systems. • Analyzed piping isometrics.
