ATS does contract manufacturing for Valve Corporation. As a software engineer in a factory I provide support for integrations between their data systems. I built and maintain our software build chain based around Jenkins and GIT to build, test, and deploy our web services. This infrastructure was not available when I started at ATS, and I had to set it up out of necessity. I also set up a MediaWiki server to facilitate our documentation.I manage the data flow between where the products are designed (Arena) with their Bill-Of-Materials and load it into the manufacturing resource planning and financial software Fourth Shift. I then provide both scheduled and ad-hoc reports from the SQL Server back-end using a combination of Sql Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, and custom SQL scripts.In addition, I write custom MVC applications tools to help production workers. Some of these have been for making a custom label-printing application using Bartender or providing a tool for time tracking on the production floor.The environment uses C#, .NET, MVC, and SQL Server as a production stack.

As a Senior Agent Developer, my responsibilities involve design and development of voice recognition agents. This involves converting a voice user interface (VUI) flow chart into commands and contexts required for the user to interface with our clients.An agent consists of a mixture of internal xml code and SQL with some C++ portions for advanced processing. I am a project lead and am responsible for looking at all bugs for the client, assigning time estimates, and determining which team is responsible to fix the defect. In addition, I am responsible to update build scripts written in bash and bat files when there is a needed configuration change. Census Block RoutingMy current project involves merging large amounts of geographic data with USPS carrier route textual information in order to generate groups of streets that comprise of a local geographic area. • The project is mostly written in SQL Server T-SQL with components in C#. • Performance optimization is necessary because of the large amount of data required to be processed and limited resources. The scope of the delivery area consists of 10,000 zip codes across the United States. • The system consists of several databases that reside on different servers. Inter-database communication is managed with link servers, passthrough queries and service broker. The source data is loaded into the database from spatial TAB files from MapInfo and textual flat files.•Developed stored procedures to standardize data sources and identify and remove duplicate street information.Map GenerationMaps are generated using a C# Windows form tool that reads information out of the database and uses mapXtreme to layer geographic data onto a map.KML Route MapA delivery area map is created using a web application that reads spatial information from the database and converts it into a KML (XML) file that can be read by Google Earth.Other duties• Developed tools in C# to convert spatial data between SQL Server geospatial data, KML, MapInfo TAB files, MID/MIF and Well-Known-Binary/Well-known-text formats.• Developed algorithm to determine best line of travel for street level routing.• Provided consultation and support to other departments as needed.• Wrote a CLR stored procedure to call a SOAP web service from inside SQL Server.
