Emergency Dispatcher
Current• Job responsibilities include answering incoming emergency 911 calls and non-emergency calls. Dispatch appropriate resources, ensuring rapid response times. Provide calm and reassuring assistance to callers in high-stress situations while maintaining composure. Utilize computer-aided dispatch systems to accurately record and relay critical information. Communicate with police officers and necessesary parties via the police radio system to ensure officer safety and to efficiently respond to calls for service. With my experience as a 911 Dispatcher and engaging in over 10,000 calls, I have had the opportunity to train several new employees. Training responsibilities included providing clear and concise guidance as we listened to incoming calls. We ensured officer safety and prioritized getting accurate information from the caller. I coached the trainees through the steps required to take for each call type. I worked with the trainees on the Police Radio system to communicate with the on duty officers regarding calls for service.
