Responsibilities included troubleshooting and maintaining the CenturyLink Metro Ethernet network of ~10,000 devices in the North American region. Was tasked with monitoring the network and dispatching technicians for maintenance and break/fix tasks nationwide as they would arise. This would include but not limited to: outage management, router configuration and replacement, fiber optic repair between sites, SFP replacements, and other hardware related issues. Being able to work with other teams and know who to contact for issues that went beyond our scope of work was essential. Worked with vendors and 3rd party providers as needed during troubleshooting processes. Devices worked on included Cisco 3600s/4500s/3400s/7609s and ASR 920s/9000s. We also used a large array of programs, mostly proprietary, to administer the changes associated with replacing/upgrading/removing/relocating network equipment on a daily basis.

Handled executive, VP, and manager level escalations from partners or customers. Served as a main escalation point for all internal customer operation teams requiring further involvement from network operations or other support departments.Managed aged and chronic tickets. Was mainly tasked with devising how to manage these issues on a daily basis, develop processes to be repeated by other teammates, and provide reporting to my direct supervisor on our progress of driving aged and chronic issues down.

Responsibilities included installing wireless, radio based high speed internet in rural locations. Equipment required line of site to an access point on a tower. Would preform site surveys, install, and configure equipment. This included all cabling, grounding, customers managed router, and customer PCs. All cables were Ethernet Cat5/6 or standard copper cabling used for grounding and created/cut on the spot. Worked alone with minimal supervision.Was allowed to work alone and placed into on call schedule after 2 months on the job due to my ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge. Typically, techs were not allowed to work alone until 6 months of training.
