As the Bootcamp instructor I taught 54 students Full-Stack development over 6 months. Classes were held 3 nights a week with office hours before and after class. As Head of Engineering, I lead a team of 7 engineers (2 full-time, 5 contractors), driving the development efforts to launch 3 products in approximately 8 months. My role encompassed translating customer feedback into strategic goals, crafting technical roadmaps, and defining clear tasks via Jira tickets for developers. Alongside managerial duties, I actively contributed to coding, spearheading the development of the Vendor Portal and core REST API(s), and conducting quality assurance on Pull Requests before integration.Technical Achievements: - Architected template repositories for Web Apps and RESTful APIs, facilitating the rapid launch of new products within a week. - Achieved >90% code coverage in all repositories. - Ensured quality by performing QA on all Pull Requests, resulting in fewer than 5 bugs in production.Leadership Highlights: - Directed a team of 7 software engineers, achieving the successful launch of 3 products in under 9 months. - Authored documents on engineering culture, team commitment, and definition of done, fostering alignment within the engineering team and with company objectives. - Managed Agile Ceremonies and SDLC, effectively translating customer requirements into Jira tickets, with less than 5% of tickets being discarded, reopened, or marked as irrelevant.

I was the principal engineer for ~50% of the micro-services for the new Training Platform playing a pivotal role in its development. Upon a successful launch of the Training Platform I transitioned to the Next Gen Reporting Platform. In this capacity I architected and implemented v1 of the platform, an event-driven Serverless data pipeline capable of handling up to 2.4 million events in a day.Technical Achievements: - Refactored gamification micro-service to prevent data loss and ensure accuracy. - Analyzed ~700,000 records to identify duplicate events that corrupted customer data. - Architected and implemented v1 of the Next Gen Reporting Platform solving customers most significant pain point with the training platform.Leadership Achievements: - Lead development efforts on the Next Gen Reporting Platform, resulting in a successful MVP and simplified UI providing useful insights to customers. - Mentored the engineering team on using AWS Step Functions in a Serverless environment.

My first position at Cylance was building the CylanceON-PREM and CylanceHYBRID products to support high-security, and air-gapped data center deployments of CylancePROTECT Agents. Both products required reverse engineering the CylancePROTECT cloud system and building a system that could run efficiently with limited availablility for horizontal and vertical scaling. Once the ON-Prem products were launched I moved over to the Research & Intelligence Cloud Engineering team to assist in the refactoring efforts to break a monolithic system into micro-services.Technical Achievements - Automated Build and Release processes for CylanceON-PREM and CylanceHYBRID products. - Lead development efforts to separate a monolithic application into micro-services. - Architected a protocol translation service allowing customers using the v1 Agents to upgrade their systems without risking service outages.Leadership Achievements - Mentored interns and junior engineers over a 2 year period - Lead development efforts to support legacy CylancePROTECT Agents with ON-PREM products.

As a member of the architecture team I worked under an Agile SDLC to support Trader Interactive's core development tools. These tools included the ETL Pipeline that processed ~400k pieces of inventory everyday, and the REST API that powered all of the Marketplace web applications. I was also responsible for maintaining the Jenkins build servers. In addition to my day-to-day responsibilities I also volunteered on the talent acquisition and retention committee where I contributed to the DELabs.io blog, organized community hack-a-thons and represented the company at university job fairs.Technical Achievements - Built tooling for reconciling vehicle makes and models increasing data quality across all Trader Online products. - Assisted replacing Oracle as the primary database to MariaDB. - Supported ETL pipeline processing ~1.6M messages per day.Leadership Achievements - Lead a team of 5 engineers during 3 internal hack-a-thons resulting in 1st and 3rd place wins. - Served as chair and co-chair organizer for community hack-a-thons.

I started out as an intern and soon found out this was unlike any other internship. There was no senior developer to offer guidance and I wasn't working on small projects that a full-time engineer would evaluate before integrating it into the main code base. It was just me and I would be responsible for monumental tasks such as rewriting the the entire code base, and switching to a new database before the universities IT team upgraded the web servers and shut off the old Access databases which would render the institues web app obsolete. During my time I introduced version control, CI/CD, and code reviews enabling new interns to contribute features and bug fixes within their first week. Over the years I went from an intern to their Lead Web Developer, but really you could have called me the institures CTO given the wide variety of responsibilities I had.Technical Achievements - Upgraded all systems from asp.net and Access to C#, .NET Framework 4.0 and Microsoft SQL Server. - Developed 5 outreach sites for graduate research projects. - Introduced version control and CI/CD for all applications.Leadership Achievements - Mentored 3 interns over 2 year period. - Advised institutes director on technology selection, development practices and hiring decisions. - Wrote internship job descriptions and interviewed candidates.

As an intern I was responsible for maintaining the institutes primary web application, and creating outreach sites for graduate students research projects.
