I am constantly curious about 'life in organisations' and how opportunities can be recognised by individuals and groups to create a more intrinsically valued work experience that generates both value added for customers or clients and a sense of personal well being for the staff themselves. My experience extends across organisations of all types and I feel at home in working with clients to understand what approaches to change may be appropriate for them as cultural, gender and resistance issues etc.are encountered. I seek to collaborate with leaders and groups on their organisational development challenges and bring to this task 30 years of experience in change, learning and capacity building in countries across Africa and Asia as well as from supporting development activities sponsored by the UN, World Bank, EU, Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation, UK's Department of International Development and UNDP.I feel exceedingly privileged in working with international groups in the UK and overseas and have personally thrived on the cross cultural interaction. When I participate in projects I seek collaboration that:-stresses ownership by the host group-progresses member learning skills as a prelude to group and organisational learning-suggests the need for 'upward voice' in organisations-seeks systemic thinking in analysing change processes -deals with emotive forces in change initiatives-and arrives at outcomes owned by the sponsoring group. My experience encompasses enterprise, public sector and NGO organisations based on a belief that while the contexts and outputs are different there are commonalities in the processes of human development and contibution.
