Reports directly to the President and Principal Engineer responsible for leading Gexcon’s high-performing consulting business through the management and execution of projects ranging from 6-12 weeks in duration including proposal generation, engineering, reporting, and billing. Provides CFD analyses and quantitative/probabilistic risk assessments for oil, gas, and dust processing industries utilizing FLACS CFD package and NIST’s FDS package; set-up, designed, executed, and analyzed CFD simulations including gas and liquid dispersion, ventilation analysis and near and far explosion load calculations for the off and onshore gas processing industry. Conducts accident investigation and research. Attends scene and laboratory scale inspections of large process facilities, house explosions and fires, apartment and fertilizer plant fires, and vehicle explosions. Conducts bench and large-scale research experiments. Additionally, delivers IT support to local offices and oversees an external IT provider; managed a CAD technician and a growing IT system including a 265-core computing cluster.• Oversees and manages $500K-$750K in projects annually consistently maintaining an 85%-90% UT rate.• Managed a multi-million-dollar 2-year long government grant for researching large-scale explosion modelling and testing; utilized MS Project to develop timelines, budgets, and monthly reports.• Provides failure analysis support including engineering analysis, site inspections, experimentation, research, literature reviews, and photo documentation; assisted in small and large-scale failure analysis and safety studies for products ranging from home appliances to industrial process equipment including hydrocarbon and dust explosions, chemical fires, and carbon monoxide exposure cases.• Authors and/or co-authors technical papers; facilitated new business generation through presentations at industry conferences as well as technical committee participation.

Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Transportation Oversight responsible for engineering and safety analysis studies related to the rapid transit fixed rail guideway systems of the MBTA. Oversees safe engineering and operation practices for all departments related to subway operations, including Power, Track, Vehicle and Signals. Conducts accident investigations for incidents meeting federally defined thresholds including injuries, fatalities, equipment failure and violations of safe operating practices.
