Bp Clair Ridge

I am now part of the Core Maintenance team on board BP Clair Ridge representing Trident Maritime systems and have responsibility for all HVAC/R maintenance and breakdown/repairs. This site is still in hook up phase and therefore I have assisted Commissioning with completion of all HVAC/R related systems.This has involved completing commissioning of pneumatic dampers and associated components, alignment of AHU fans and motors and assisting with initial load runs of all systems etc. whilst ensuring all ITR test sheets associated with the tasks are strictly followed completing all tasks required of these and then signing off and submitting as complete. As this project is on a strict timescale for completion I must complete tasks that comply with the weekly mission statement whilst ensuring these tasks are also carried out in a safe manner. As a Performing Authority and Isolating authority within the ISSOW permit system I have responsibility to raise permits and isolation's enforcing a strong safety culture throughout any task I am responsible for, this involves correctly documenting procedures and isolation's on each permit and then completing a toolbox talk with the work parties involved in each individual task, whilst ensuring safety is paramount throughout the task entirety.As the BP Maintenance HVAC focal point onsite it is my responsibility to highlight any concerns that I recognize may cause issue moving forward from project phase to production and these are documented and submitted to BP via the SQ (Site Query) system for review and if required escalated to instigate change to the status of that particular piece of equipment.I am also responsible for documenting any F-GAS that is onsite and continually updating this as the project moves forward.As a permanent BP safety Rep team member on board Clair Ridge I always participate in a positive safety culture and utilise the BOSS system as much as possible so to continually improve safety where possible.

North Sea

• I currently work with IES Ltd attending offshore platforms and Vessels, responding to breakdowns on Galley refrigeration, Accomodation cooling plant, all HVAC related issues eg protecting Accomodation integrity, Fire damper repairs, overhauling actuators, repairing/ replacing supply fans, extract fans and associated motors, IGV's or heat removal from platform generators and critical electrical switch gear rooms. I have installed Sabroe, Bock, carrier and York compressors this year and also completed through to full commssioning, We are also required to overhaul compressors on site including changing shaft seals, pulleys and valve plates, whilst identifying issues with internal bearings. I must attend daily morning meetings and update platform personel on status of equipment. I am also authorised on certain platforms to detail permits, toolbox talks and risk assessments. I complete at atleast 1 Safety based observation card (eg BP BOSS system) per week whilst offshore which involves engaging with other platform personel and recording safety commendments or concerns. It is my role to inform core crew of any F-Gas log updates. I always adhere to safety requirements on any platform I attend and work within the specified company permit system.

Chevron, Aberdeen

• When working with SPIE as a site based lead technician within Chevron Aberdeen. My daily duties included site checks, repairs, maintenance and service. I also spent a large amount of time detailing and presenting risk assessments , method statements, and permits for my own use as well as the other engineers in my field, it was my role to keep all associated fgas records and associated hvac works up to date and all jobs within the site to be carried out safely and on time within a pre determined timescale. I also shared some duties with my line manager eg attend daily briefings and update chevron on all jobs carried out by SPIE staff, current and future projects going on within the site . As a large site within the oil industry safety is paramount at all times and as a lead technician in my field it was my job to enforce this through a strong safety culture and questioning attitude.

Torness Nuclear Power Station

When working with chilli services I spent a large amount of time working within Torness Nuclear Power station. As the senior engineer located at the site I was trusted by Edf energy to take charge of all works including diagnostics, repairs, installations and general maintenance of critical plant ie main Co2 plant pressure reduction with which we used large refrigeration systems to accomplish this, 750 kW water chillers including screw compressor changes, as well as all other refrigeration and air conditioning plant on site. I completed many levels of training in order to attain my position insure as a trusted nominated person, this enabled me to take charge of working parties at the site.I also worked on lots of other sites in many different sectors eg, supermarket refrigeration, retail,factories, comfort cooling in offices, and industrial in a large paper mill.

• As an engineer with the company I worked in many varied sectors but predominately the medical sector, repairing water chillers for MRI and CT scanners, as well as mortuary's, blood banks, drugs fridges, low temperature applications ie -80 freezers. I also installed many types of refrigeration and air conditioning to hospitals, schools, retail shops, frozen food factories and abattoirs. To do this we gained continual training from industry manufacturers such as carrier, Airedale, Daikin, mitsubishi, danfoss and GEA.

• I installed, repaired and maintained many types of air conditioning and ventilation. VRV, VRF, split systems, AHU and water chillers. This was predominately within the commercial sector

• I completed my modern apprenticeship gaining certificates up to level SVQ level 3
