Coding is quite the passion of mine. I didnt even know I wanted to code until my first semester of college when I was taking a C++ for engineers course and knew I needed to switch to a CS path instead. Ever since, I have loved every minute of it and being able to use code to solve many problems, big or small, is always a good time in my book. My first professional taste of the Software development world was an internship with state farm which allowed me to use COBOL and system Z mainframe to create a mailing system in the life insurance sector. After this and finishing college, I ended up at Salient where I write automated tests using Java in the Selenium/Appium framework. Here I work mostly with the mobile product by maintaining the java automation repo to make sure our code is efficient and reliable. Outside of work, I continue to code or just take some Pluralsight classes to deepen my knowledge. My current at-home project is a Flutter app using Dart, where the main idea is to provide random questions to the user based on how complex they want the questions to be. This idea was brought to me from a teacher who uses excel for this sort of thing and really needed an easier solution. The concept is easy but I have been loving learning new framework and languages on my free time. I plan to continue updating this project and working on others such as a music discord bot because my friends and I are unhappy with current solutions. Im always looking for a challenge and something to get my creative juices flowing, as I feel I will never reach a point where I know "everything" and there is always something to learn.
