In 1973 I bought in to a one truck local moving company and became partners with the son ofthe owner who was retiring. I realized that we needed to be a national company and searched for a van line affiliation which was known for providing top quality service. We built the company from $50,000 annual revenues to approximately $7 million in annual revenues. We were a top agent for Wheaton Van Lines from 1973 until 1995 when we changed to United Van Lines. This change gave us more of a global presence in the marketplace through Unigroup. The company now operates between 30 to 40 vans, has two warehouses and is an agent for United Van Lines, Inc. I have worn all hats at the company from operations to sales. My final years were spent servicing my corporate clients which I had built up over a 30 year period but I was never afraid to take off the business suit and work side by side with our employees. We believed that training was essential to providing the best quality service. I owned several planes during this time and flew within a 1,000 mile radius to call on my clients and transport our employees to job sites. I left the company in 2004 to live out my passion for flying. The current operation is strictly up to those in the Andresen family. I remain connected to the relocation business in order to keep up to speed with the many changes over the years.
