Horticulturist
CurrentIn my current role I am responsible for managing a busy urban garden centre while dealing with customer queries and advising them on plant selection. As part of my duties I’m responsible for stock control of all plant and hard stocks. I oversee, manage and motivate a small but dedicated staff, who have consistently scored the highest in ‘mystery shopper’ results out performing all other stores in the company. My role includes setting up and implementing in store promotions and liaising with head office on pricing. I’m responsible for meeting weekly sales targets, growing sales and managing loss prevention. I maintain plant quality managing pests and diseases and implementing control measures. In 2015 I was acknowledged for designing and building a display garden for ‘Woodies in Bloom’ at the entrance to the store. I’ve been awarded ‘Colleague of the Month’ in January, ‘Most Helpful Colleague’ in 2015 and completed a 795k cycle in 5 days raising 257k for the ‘Make a Wish’ charity.
