Jan 2011 - Jul 2015I was offered the opportunity to work on a iron ore reclamation project with Steel Dynamics with the spirit of providing low cost iron units to the Mesabi Nugget project. Our company partnered with Magnetation to design and develop a 1.06 Million tonnes per year production facility. This facility was named Mining Resources, LLC and broke ground in November of 2011 and first produced in September of 2012. I assisted in purchasing, procurement, shipping, installation, commissioning and operation of a majority of the $70 million dollar project. I also helped manage and coordinate the efforts of nearly 600 contractors. My continued efforts have transitioned back into a more traditional process engineering role; maximizing production and minimizing variability of our product to our customer Mesabi Nugget.

Jan 2009 - Jan 2011Fort Wayne, In, UsAs a process engineer at Iron Dynamics, I was responsible for a SAF offgas system and its maintenace and operation. This was a wet system that utilized direct contact cooling, numerous sludge removal operations and pH adjustment/control. I spent a great deal of time retrofitting old, inadequately designed water treatment equipment for its current use but also put a few new constructions under my belt as well. Also, I assisted in the process (both chemical and energy) balances around the submerged arc in order to help maximize production while maintaining suitable chemical control for prolonged plant success.
