As a software engineer on the Starbucks Connect team, I led the technical design and development of Point of Sale (POS) features that enabled licensed stores to offer a customer experience consistent with the Starbucks brand. These features include drive-thru functionality, direct integration with payment/gift card providers, integration with licensee loyalty programs, and in-store fraud prevention.As more stores joined the Connect program, the data management team and I determined that their manual data management tasks would not scale in a sustainable manner. I took this opportunity to expand my understanding of Starbucks' IT ecosystem and processes. I implemented automation software that priced Starbucks items on the mobile app for licensed stores, ensuring customers received a consistent experience whether they decided to order on the app or in-store. This resulted in a significant reduction in pricing errors in production, a reduction in labor costs needed for each promotional rollout (e.g., pumpkin spice latte!), and an increase in loyalty member sign-ups.On the technical side, I adhered to SOLID design principles and best practices in the codebase to promote modularity, ease of testing, and maintenance. As I refactored legacy code, I made sure to improve unit test coverage and document nuances along the way.

Supported the Enterprise Cloud Services Organization on the Infrastructure Automation Products team. Led the technical design and development of software that automates the integration of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources into Boeing’s IT ecosystem for auditing and compliance. This effort resulted in a reduction of dozens of labor hours required per GCP resource provision/deprovision across the company.Updated and supported a full-stack Active Directory enterprise web tool (frontend, backend, and database) to align with company-wide Windows Active Directory restructuring, contributing to a $2MM+ per year cost savings across the company.
