My journey in IT is now effectively complete. After 42 years service in many industries, its time to open an new chapter and find fresh challenges and activities.

Senior International Project Manager (Team Manager): Reporting to the EMEA Services Director, responsible for providing programme, project and team management on multi-national accounts. Three direct report project managers (1 contractor) each running a portfolio of projects. Oversaw local country project managers on specific accounts.Established and led a 32 person, £3.5M complex systems development and implementation Programme over 9 months for a parcel Track-&-Trace system at Littlewoods Retail using internal resource and multiple 3rd party software and service suppliers. Fixed price contract delivered to cost and time. Technologies included Sun servers, WirelessWAN, HTML, PalmOS, Oracle8i and SCO Unix. Global Programme Manager for £4M BOC Gasses account for all project and account activities. Ensured maximum benefit for all strategic projects.Rolled-out a 17 EMEA site, 6 month, Pan-European, £600K web-based, on-line hardware and software infrastructure solution for Microsoft Licensing Authorised Replicators.Successfully delivered 3 simultaneous Personal Shopper System (PSS) pilots to Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Superquinn over 6 months totalling £500K using internal and external resources. Planned and managed delivery for an extended, rapid 2 month 6 store PSS roll-out then developed and installed an innovative Radio Frequency (RF) version. Completed a further 18 month, 26 store, £5.6M PSS roll-out for Sainsbury’s. Consultancy and Systems Integration Division.Storehouse: Retail system project management for a 5 person performance engineering team.General Motors: Recruited a 5 person team for an innovative automotive e-commerce solution.

Reporting to the Business Systems Manager responsible for all in-store systems. Reported to the board. Reviewed the ageing UK & European EPOS and presented to the main board. Wrote the in-store systems strategy, plan, functional specification and ITT. Appraised a broad spread of EPOS suppliers in both the UK and USA. Produced the Capital Expense and business justification proposal for a 240 site, £4.5M project. Appointed ICL and handled contractual, risk & budgetary matters. Collaborated with ICL for the development, pilots, migration and roll-out of the developed solution. Established and maintained a support agreement.Planned and managed the implementation of "Switch" and Amex card acceptance using On-Line Authorisation over ISDN. A BT Retail Technology Awards finalist.
