My leadership work as Upper School Academic Dean at Catlin Gabel is delightfully varied. I lead and design professional learning for our faculty of about 55 teachers, oversee academic policy and curriculum in the upper school, provide instructional, team, and leadership coaching, and supervise about half of the upper school faculty. I also serve as the school’s site director for the Mastery Transcript Consortium, working with a wide range of stakeholders to develop the school's portrait of a graduate and build capacity for competency-based teaching and learning in anticipation of potential adoption of a mastery transcript for future graduates. I also teach one math class as a proud member of the math department and serve as the school's site director for the Global Online Academy. More recently, I have come to oversee our Immersives courses in the final two weeks of the school year, working across our division to support and deepen experiential education in a variety of forms, and serve on the AI Taskforce, a small group that leads professional learning and thoughtful philosophy and policy development school wide.

Advisor was Dr. Ellie Drago-Severson, author of Helping Teachers Learn and Leading Adult Learning. My dissertation examined teacher leaders' experiences in implementing learning-oriented leadership using a 360-degree qualitative interview study. Research interests: Principal and teacher leadership for adult learning and development; professional learning design for teacher growth and school change; organizational theory, distributed leadership, and institutional theory; leadership and developmental coaching and immunity to change; leadership in complexity.

Served as the teaching fellow for Dr. Ellie Drago-Severson's semester course,Transforming Education: Leadership for Adult Development (ORLA 4044), for 17 doctoral and masters students. Responsibilities included commenting on students work, facilitating whole-class and small group discussions, sharing personal experiences in leading for growth, and assisting in the design of the course.

Chair of department (2009-2018) with 13 members. Responsible for budget, student placement, curriculum, and ongoing support of department members, with input in personnel decisions. My focus was on supporting teacher development via collaborative inquiry and peer observations, strengthening meaningful use of technology in classrooms, and developing an initiative via consensus toward more student-centered learning.12th grade coordinator position (similar to grade dean) oversees class advisors, cares for student well-being, coordinates school response for struggling students, and serves on Upper School Leadership Team.Courses taught: Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Honors, Algebra 2/Trig Honors, Precalculus, Precalculus Honors, IB Math Studies (certified IB level 2), AP Calculus AB (certified AP Calculus AB), Abstract Algebra, and Number Theory.Additional duties: Coordinator of the Global Speakers Series (5 speakers per year); co-chair of the Technology Committee; advisor for Model UN Club; advisor for School Council (past); 11th and 12th grade student advising; Director of the annual SCEEP Olympics community service field day.

Extensive tutoring experience in SAT, ACT, SAT 2 (Math level 1 and 2), SSAT, ISEE, and academics ranging from 6th grade math to AP Calculus, specializing in helping students build confidence and a positive approach while also mastering skills, knowledge, and test-taking strategies.

Teaching fellow on Dr. Ellie Drago-Severson's course, School Leadership for Adult Development (ORLA 5018), for approximately 80 aspiring principals. Responsibilities included full grading responsibility for 15 students, leading whole-class and small group discussions, and sharing stories from my personal leadership practice.

Camp Director of 6-week summer residential music camp. Hiring responsibility for a summer staff of 15; over 200 campers attend throughout the summer. Led staff training, liaised with government officials, vendors, and parents. Final responsibility for all disciplinary situations. A wonderful program, each and every year.

Taught Algebra, Pre-Algebra, and 6th grade math. 6th grade student advisor. Developed and directed two special, school-wide project days (Using GPS technology and traditional map-making skills to map our campus & A math treasure hunt!).
