Andrology Laboratory and ICSI Service at the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine.Andrology-Prepare samples for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI).-Perform complete Semen Analysis (SA) and cryopreservation.-Analyze and cryopreserve specimens obtained by surgical retrieval: mTESE,MESA, etc.-Perform supplementary semen assays, such as TUNEL.-Perofmr IRB-approved protocols, including sex selection of spermatozoa and microfluidics sperm selection.-Obtain patient informed consent.-Process shipments of frozen samples from outside facilities and cryobanks. -Leader of Andrology Proficiency Testing events.-Maintain quality control database for Andrology laboratory.Data and Literature Responsibilities-Transcribe handwritten ICSI data into digital copies to be stored in the lab’s electronic database.-Update center-wide ICSI clinical outcome data for use in presentations of Dr. Palermo and the Weill Cornell ICSI team.-Involved in all processes of writing/editing peer-reviewed manuscripts, invited editorial literature, and textbook chapters.-Submit abstracts to international congress, including the annual meetings of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).Management of the clinical practice of Dr. Gianpiero D. Palermo-Schedule couples to see Dr. Palermo.-Ensure that Dr. Palermo has all relevant historical records for his couples.-Ensure the implantation of Dr. Palermo’s treatment plans.-Maintain orderly patient files.-Track the ovarian superovulation of Dr. Palermo’s patients.-Ensure proper CPT and ICD-10 usage.Embryology Responsibilities-Perform Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). - Over 1,600 treatment cycles since in ~4 years.-Responsible for complete and accurate ICSI documentation.-Assist with maintenance of ICSI micromanipulators.-Maintain training records and documents required for CAP certification for the ICSI team.
