About Derek Kettle

I graduated with my Master’s in Science of Biomedical Sciences from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona CA. While attending I took extensive coursework in bioinformatics and clinical practices & procedures. I also collaborated in a peer reviewed study on micro-RNA influence in gene regulation in two chicken populations (see link below). For my capstone project, I did extensive work researching proteins involved in the ER associated degradation pathway for terminally misfolded pre-pro insulin. This work led to an understanding of proteins that could be targeted to decrease beta cell death in diabetic patients, and continued to drive my interest to work in the biomedical field.Contact me.
