Derek started out hands-on in the construction boom of the 1980's. In the 1990's after attending USF Derek was the lead on many construction projects including the Zaballa Square retail center in Half Moon Bay. With his newly formed construction and land companies, in the period of 2001 - 2014 Derek built 14 new single family homes and completed many remodels, all the time supporting Juliette in her thriving real estate business.Juliette started as a real estate agent in 2003 steadily increasing her business every year, even through the 2008 down turn reaching $30M in closed sales in 2013. In 2014 Derek suspended his construction operations and turned his focus to real estate sales with Juliette. Together they founded The Kulda Group at Keller Williams Realty which closed over $40M in sales by the end of that first year. In 2015, its second year it closed $54M becoming the #1 real estate sales provider on the San Mateo Coastside area selling homes 47% faster than average and began expanding to the broader SF Peninsula. In 2017 Kulda Group closed $76M becoming #2 in San Mateo County and $96M in 2019 across the SF Peninsula and East Bay. In 2020 we closed $140M in the greater SF Bay Area, become #1 in San Mateo County by units and REAL Trends #26 in the state of California for closed volume for large teams.
