My objectives in business follow my objectives in life. I recognize that there are three types of burdens--those that are required of me, those I volunteer for and those I surrender to God. I once believed that my bills and financial obligations were required of me and my service to others was what I volunteered to do. I now recognize that I am required to serve others and that I volunteer to drive a car. I assume that bill voluntarily when I could just as soon walk or ride public transport. Therefore, insurance and gas are things I volunteer for in life. I have an obligation to mentor those younger than I am to facilitate their growth and development and foster their ability to be of service to others by assisting them in their road to success. I do the footwork and turn everything else over to God. My objective is not to see what I can extract from the world in terms of material accumulations but to envision and to actively participate in putting good works into the world as a reflection of the blessings I have received.
