Having been the Trusts technical adviser for 40 years I have taken on the Chair.We are currently seeking to rescue the 12 historic buildings most at Risk in Derbyshire - ranging from Samuel Whitehursts former house in Derby (Smith's Clocks) to the whole Belper Mills Complex in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage SiteThe first of these is Wingfield Station -1841 by Francis Thompson - one of the earliest surviving rural railway stations in the world - but only just. Derelict for over 40 years we have persuaded Amber Valley Borough Council to serve a CPO following a Repairs Notice. The Trust will 'back to back' purchase the property and convert to commercial use and include interpretation of the siteWe are applying for grant aid to undertake a county wide survey of the condition of all historic buildings. harnessing up to 300 volunteers and hopefully enlisting the support of all historic building owners in the county for the work of the Trust

Formerly the Design and Conservation Officer for Derbyshire CC, he then led Lathams, Architecture and Urban Design, for 35 years and was amongst the top ten award-winning architects in the UK for the decade during the 1990s. Responsible for:-The Victoria Quarter, Leeds, regenerating a neglected part of the city into a prime retail area. -The Jewellery Business Centre, for HRH The Prince of Wales, helping to revitalise the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham -Design adviser to the Sheffield Development Corporation regenerating the Don Valley-Pride Park, a regeneration of contaminated inner-city land in Derby, including business park, leisure, retail and stadia.-The rescue of a series of derelict buildings in Wirksworth as architect for the Wirksworth Project -Design Advice to the Sheffield Development Corporation.-An Urban Design Study to reinvigorate Cheltenham town centre, and approach roads-Masterplanning new developments in the centre, and periphery, of Ely as part of their expansion plan-Restoration of derelict greenhouses: conversion of model farm buildings into Picture Conservation Studios: and construction of new farm shop all in Windsor Great Park for the Royal Household-Conversion of Empress Brewery Manchester in to a business centre and business park
