We pride ourselves in our honesty, integrity, customer service, loyalty, and a strong desire to give back to the community we live in.Derek Lyons, the owner and operator of Garage Door Guy, began his career as a garage door technician in 2009 as a means to provide for him and his new bride after relocating to Arizona to accept an unpaid youth ministry position at a small church. Derek quickly mastered the skills and fell in love with the trade.The idea for Garage Door Guy came to him during his time with this small family run operation, but the timing was just not right.In 2014 God brought Derek and his wife Regina to Springfield, MO and, with over 5 years experience in the field, Derek quickly found another garage door technician job.It was almost a year later in 2015 when Derek would finally see his dreams become a reality. With the full support of his loving wife and great friends he'd met along the way Garage Door Guy was finally born.

I am a field service technician for Gecko Garage Door Service where I diagnose, repair and or replace garage doors and or automatic garage door openers. Repair work can include replacing broken springs (extension, torsion, etc.), Replacing gears in an opener, replacing electrical parts in an opener, replacing certain moving parts on a garage door and or automatic opener, as well as lubricating any moving parts and making appropriate adjustments. I also replace garage doors and automatic openers or install where one may not have been before. I have the most experience in residential work although I do have a very basic knowledge of commercial work.

I am responsible for the development and oversight of all Hope Community Church of the Nazarene ministries from junior high and senior high youth with the goal of the youth becoming devoted followers of Jesus Christ. I do this by leading and organizing effective youth programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities. I also recruit, train and shepherd volunteer youth staff with diverse gifts and personalities, provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis, maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities, assist in the development and oversight of the youth ministry budgets; also manage student fees for events and trips in a timely fashion, and participate as needed or requested in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
