Having researched the market potential I set up Car Valeting Killarney.Work involved:• Market research of the business potential in the area.• Media marketing and promotions– design of flyers, set up of the Car Valeting Killarney website and social media advertising and promotions. • Valeting of vehicles to a very high standard and succeeded in building up an excellent reputation in the area for a thorough and high quality service.• Maintaining excellent customer relations in dealing with the public• Pricing of work for individual and corporate clients• Maintaining accounting records including income and expenditure account, debtors and creditors accounts and cash flow and budgeting for the business.

Freelance work including CAD design for planning applications, and planning and building works for various clients.Duties include:• Sketch designs and client meetings• Completed site and building surveys• Planning applications completed and submitted to local authorities• Sourcing of finishing’s and overseeing construction to finished stage

(4 Month temporary contract dependent on work load)• Working as part of a team to produce medical manuals to a very high standard of quality. • Quality control from start to finish in all areas is continuously monitored. • The job involves using various precise machinery including guillotine, punching and binding machinery, shrink-wrapping and collating while monitoring quality of prints while working. • All operations are preformed to ISO standards.

Planning Drawings and Production Information Drawings:• Worked as part of a design team and to contribute on design/ presentation aspects of projects. • Liaised with Engineers/ Quantity Surveyors to maintain and manage smooth planning of projects. • Attended regular meetings with Clients/ Builders to ensure costs/ design and deadlines are met. • Prepared tender projects for costing with the Quantity Surveyor and on completion of projects responsible for snagging out etc.• Prepared preliminary drawings and the created AutoCAD and 3d images based on lead-Architects sketches.• Prepared planning applications and subsequent Tender Documentation and maintained high standards of document control. • Updated working drawings following mark-ups during project development.• Worked on own initiative with various responsibilities for design/ details etc.

Work Carried Out:• Attended design meetings with Project Managers for preliminary design talks with Architects, Engineers, Clients & Sub Contractors to co-ordinate design through the projects. • Liaised with Architects & Engineers ensuring all works were running to programme, specifications issued at tender stage and ensuring compliance with relevant and current code of practices set out for structural glazing and latest Pilkington’s literature standard.• Attended frequent site meetings, engaging in surveys, issuing drawings, appointing information from other trades, issuing glass work sheets, ordering materials and liaising with site fixing teams, sub contractors and manufacturers to ensure accurate progression of installation.• Worked closely with the steelwork designers & erectors producing total packages for planar installation. Using decorative truss systems and main structural framing to suit client’s requirements. All projects were closely monitored with Pilkington Architectural Engineers to enable best design and installation techniques.• Frameless door system such as Dorma & revolving door systems such as Geze or Boon Edam. All technical & manufacturing details incorporated to create highly specified glass assemblies.Additional Duties:• Purchasing/Taking of quantities of materials for manufacture and design.• Other duties in the office included the supervision of all the computers on the network and ensuring that the office was run effectively and efficiency.
