I worked on the Stories Platform team, where I was responsible for improving the efficiency of Snapchat's story related features. I re-built the flow for retrieving and syncing custom stories from the backend. This involved creating creating separate network/app/database models to avoid passing the same models throughout the entire app, as well as re-writing the syncing logic to only retrieve newly updated stories in order to save bandwidth. Additionally I migrated Snapchat's story snap sending logic to use new endpoints and reduce the latency of snaps posted to stories.

I worked on the Connections Product team at Instagram. My work involved creating flows that help users manage their graphs by following, blocking, muting, and removing people. I owned the features from start to finish, which means I was responsible for collaborating with design, coding the features, running and analyzing the experiments, and making decisions about whether or not to ship.

I was the project lead on the Post-Order Experience project. This project displayed information to the user after they placed an order for food delivery or pickup. I wrote the post order flow in Kotlin, using Yelp's Bento component framework with an MVP architecture and RxJava. I used the Google Maps API to show driver tracking information to the user after they placed a delivery order. As the project lead I was also responsible for scoping out project milestones, reporting to PMs, mentoring new hires and interns, and scheduling the release of the feature.Before that, I wrote the mobile API for Yelp's native food ordering flow. This involved using swagger to model the API response, using python to create RESTful endpoints and retrieve information from other python services, formatting responses in JSON, and creating unit tests with pytest.
