I am an experienced Chartered Electrical Engineer, with 31 years of experience in the railway transportation sector. I have extensive experience of railway infrastructure, including Telecommunications, Systems Engineering, Signalling & Train Control and Rolling Stock.My most recent experience has been as Requirements Lead within Transport for Wales, acting as the focus within TfW in relation to the Operations and Delivery Partner’s activities in relation to capturing the contract requirements for the Core Valley Lines Transformation works. Prior to that, I was a Consultant Systems and Telecommunications Engineer within the Integrated Delivery Team for the Manchester Metrolink programme of works, including the Phase 3 Expansion and existing System Improvement/Enhancement works.I have also been discipline lead for a team of telecommunications engineers working on a variety of heavy rail and light rail projects in the UK, Europe and Internationally. Earlier experience includes Independent Safety Assessor work for telecommunications, project engineering roles on the Arlanda Airport Rail Link in Stockholm, Sweden (Signalling and Passenger Information Systems), Eurostar 3 Capitals and North of London Trains (Electrical Power Systems / Train Performance) and Docklands Light Railway (ad-hoc LRV support and performance simulation).
