Resource and Productivity Management• Exercise command and control over 300 employees every 8-hr shift to motivate them to perform their best• Responsible for their deployment to ensure they are all productively deployed• Conduct short notice trainings on lull periods to make sure employees are up to date with the latest work practices• Regularly deliver 190 containers per cranes deployed every shift, out-performing KPI by 10%. Prime mover productivity regularly exceeds KPI, achieving turnaround of 4 containers every hourOperations Management• Oversee operations within PSA Pasir Panjang container terminal with proprietary resource planning to ensure delivery of high results and seamless service to customers round the clock, using the most cost effective method• Conduct safety inspections, maintenance checks and briefings to inculcate a safe working environment for staff. Spearhead campaigns to raise awareness for safety and implement new SOPs to eradicate unsafe work practicesPlanning• Extract data and figures from past shifts to analyze and understand operational history so as to perform better• Planning of vessel stowage according to agent’s requirements but at the same time optimal for PSA operations• Communicate with shipping company agents and customers to understand their vessel characteristics. Responsible for making sure that vessels sail with sufficient GM and trim without stack weight or lashing force violations• Liaise with external departments to implement new productivity programs and project. Responsible to fine tune industry best practices into current practicesBusiness Management• Co-ordinate berth arrangements with 5 terminals in Singapore to reduce berth waiting time for customers• Regularly engage shipping lines to understand their business constraints to serve them better• Reduce berth wastage through accurate planning and setting of sailing time
