Day-to-day tasks include, escalation point for NOC organizations as well as engineers for specific network or equipment issues. Isolate, troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues on Layer 1, layer 2, and layer 3 network devices (DSLAMS, aggregators, ATM switches, Ethernet switches, routers) Work with field technicians and local management to assist in the resolution of equipment or network level outagesEngage in network outage bridge calls to troubleshoot and resolve large network outagesUtilize, manage and maintain network and performance monitoring tools to ensure network reliability (SNMPc, Solarwinds, Nagios, NavisCore, Netcool, Peakflow) Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for network outages that require details on what caused an outage, what was done to resolve it and what can be done to reduce impact or prevent future occurrencesOperations included with work on the following units, including both CLI and ElementManagement System experience: Video: Arris Broadband Multimedia Router , Cisco prisma EDFA , SlingboxData:Access – Motorola Axsvision OLT , Alcatel GPON OLT , Tellabs GPON OLT , Adtran- TA , 7300/ 5000 /3000 / 1248 /1148 , Calix : C7, E3/E5 , Naviscore-CBX500 , Routers- Cisco 6509 , 12k, ASR910 , Alcatel-Lucent - 7210,7750,7330, 7450, and 5620 , ERX1440 , ERX320 , Voice: GTD5, DMS100, 5ESS , Meta-SwitchTransport: Alcatel 7950 , Fujitsu Flashwave 4500 , Coriant 7194

• Proactively identify recurring or chronic problems and develop action plans• Lead communications with customer through detailed discussions of relevant issues, impacts and solutions. • Coordinate daily service assurance activities for Frontier working closely with internal and external teams• Ensure successful implementations without negative impact to our customer• Provide focus and customer support for chronic troubled conditions via detailed analysis of historical data, real time testing and interaction at various levels both within Frontier and with the customer• Work as a conduit between the service assurance organizations, internal and external customers, vendors, etc., as needed, in providing resolution to complex service problems
