Mentoring at local schools, churches, and community centers. Conducting the "Law and Your Community" sessions. Food drives,clothing drives,backpack and other school initiatives.Mentoring, training, and promotional endeavors for our membership. Ensuring that our members and the community are totally informed on criminal justice legislation and programs. Through these efforts and other collaborations our organization seeks equal justice for all communities. New York City Police Department, New York, NY Lieutenant Commander Detective Squad of Brooklyn Night Watch 2002- 2008 (Retired February 29, 2008)• Supervised and provided direction to detectives between the hours of 1 am to 8 am. Facilitated resources to enhance investigations. Responsible for all criminal investigations including, robbery, sexual assaults, homicides and domestic violence.Commanding Officer Brooklyn Special Victim Squad 2000-2002• Supervised over 45 Detectives investigating over 4000 sexual assault cases a year; supervised the collaboration between the Child Abuse Squad and multiple outside agencies to provide training, resources and workshops on the physical, emotional and legal needs of victims of sexual assault and other forms of domestic violence. Developed and presented interactive assembly workshops addressing gang violence, sexual assault, and gun violence to over 1,000 junior high school students in NYC.
