Having completed a PhD in Air Pollution featuring real-time computing I initially specialised in process control systems engineering, plus simulator design. Over time my technology interests have expanded to include business issues. 17 years at HP UK provided me with manufacturing, Quality and people management skills. Since 1991 I have specialised in the technology issues surrounding SAP business applications. I helped HP UK become a major SAP partner in Europe. I was then headhunted to Gartner as a Research Director in the ERP team, where I travelled the World extensively to give keynote presentations on SAP, wrote hundreds of SAP-based research notes and advised thousands of clients about SAP strategy and best practices. I specialised in SAP Basis, operations, Solution Manager, COEs, S/4HANA and Business Value from SAP.I retired from Gartner in 2017, joining Resulting Ltd as a Non Executive Director, where we focus on all of these same SAP issues. We specialise in making SAP customers more successful, by optimising their internal SAP COE organisation, applying our SAP Customer Success model and applying graphical tools to develop SAP Roadmaps and S/4 Business Cases.I am also passionate about Sustainability and have published many research articles on how IT and ERP in particular can play a major role in Sustainability strategy and improvement projects.
