Led Corus International's organizational strategy, business development and technical excellence teams to enhance impact, innovation, revenues and expansion global footprint. Managed a multi sectoral, global, multi-company pipeline of $4 billion in tracking, capture, development and new revenues across Corus' parent company and 5 subsidiary companies. Developed multiyear revenue models to grow organizational global impact. Oversaw development of systems, tools, cost models and institutional donor engagement strategies. Led development of organizational strategies in global health, livelihoods, economic development, climate, education and humanitarian assistance. Led strategic decision making and complex proposal teams to secure over $400 million in new revenues in FY 2021- FY 2022. Oversaw the establishment and growth of a new subsidiary dedicated to non-USG finance models for revenues. Identified new geographies and sectors for organizational expansion of impact and footprint. Managed 5 senior leaders and a division of over 35 staff with a budget of $3.5 million.

As a senior executive in a newly created role in a newly created organization built on the merger of IMA World Health and Lutheran World Relief, led the integration of two business development teams, built new business development systems, mentored and coached staff on donor engagement, donor diversification, negotiation skills, representation, organizational strategy, strategic pipeline development, data for decision-making and enhancing revenue generation with key institutional donor clients. Developed systems to track and strategically manage resource mobilization efforts to merge and grow pipelines for the organization, resulting in a total pipeline of over $3 billion in tracking, capture and pursuit. Led successful negotiations on Corus International's first $200 million global project. Responsible for the creation of organization-wide business development seminar series to enhance understanding of BD systems and tools. Managed a divisional budget of $2.5 million and a team of 16 business development professionals working on USAID, CDC, FCDO, World Bank, UN, and multiple foundation opportunities. Created new transparent data-driven bid decision systems and led efforts to grow the global footprint of the organization into new geographies.

Provided leadership, vision and strategy on all aspects of business development including intelligence gathering, strategic partnering, compliance and pricing, enhanced data for decision-making, and donor engagement. Re-engineered the business development function by merging and restructuring teams, developing organizational systems and standards, mentoring staff and leading organizational initiatives. Developed a 5 year strategic plan for resource mobilization including donor engagement and revenue enhancement. Oversaw an annual average pipeline of $500 million consisting of an average of 250 proposals per year, ranging from $50,000 to $300 million with an average win rate of 30% on competitive solicitations and 80% on unsolicited proposals. Managed a team of 18 professionals and a divisional budget of $2.5 million.

Provided leadership on proposal development and compliance for all business development activities. Created new team to develop all business proposals and cost volumes for the organization, provided mentoring and capacity building, and led the creation of standardized tools and systems and business process improvement. Led complex donor and partner negotiations on all proposals and awards. Managed a team of 11 staff with staff across all technical areas and business lines, often working remotely in offices around the world. Managed a budget of $1.8 million.

As key member of senior management team, set up and managed the Grants Department of the ICT Program and developed a successful strategy to promote the US$4 million grant program for ICT for development. Developed and distributed a grants beneficiary handbook, established a monitoring and evaluation system, and led a national awareness campaign which included visits to rural NGOs and SMEs to encourage grant applications. Worked with Egyptian and American NGOs to invite and refine proposals for funding, led evaluation process, set up and implemented process for fast-track allocation of grant funds, and represented General Dynamics to the US Government and the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Stimulated submission of 30+ unsolicited grant applications. Formed ad hoc proposal evaluation panels, coordinated with other ICT Program teams, annual strategic planning. Major grants awarded include: Ain Shams University Faculty of Audiology – Development of an Egyptian-specific multimedia software package to diagnose and treat children with Central Auditory Processing Disorder; YMCA of Egypt – NetCorps Egypt program – National ICT community awareness and development program designed to leverage young leaders in rural areas to help their communities bridge the digital divide – Egyptian program focused on enabling rural SMEs to utilize ICT for in their business development- pilot program to impact 50 rural SMEs; Assiut Businessmen’s Association and the Association for SME Development in Mansoura – SME ICT Awareness and Trigger Subsidy Program – Rural SME support activity in 2 cities to stimulate demand for and usage of ICT – pilot program was designed to be replicated throughout Egypt in rural areas; Egyptian ICT Business Association Strengthening Grant - Support funding to enable development of a strong Egyptian ICT business association to lobby for the IT industry in Egypt and represent Egyptian IT private sector firms abroad.

Managed training department and technical user documentation development for Hewlett-Packard’s USAID-funded TE NOC Solution Project. Supervised project training budget of US$ 2 million and a professional staff of consultants, technical experts, trainers, editors, and administrative assistants. Coordinated vendor training programs, in country and overseas programs, managed distributed multinational team (Egypt-Singapore-India), and led development of 14 user manuals and all project documentation. Served as liaison for HP to Telecom Egypt, USAID, General Dynamics and other donor agencies. Developed assessment tools and reporting mechanisms, designed programs for on-the-job training, mentoring, and coaching of project staff. Worked with core management team to design project enhancements and new business for HP in Egypt. Provided project leadership for host-country technical experts, and project policy.

As member of senior management team of a multinational NGO, led initiative to establish a regional network of training and program development centers. Model center opened in Cairo, Egypt, with sister centers in Jordan, Morocco, and Lebanon. Raised year one funding of US$1 million for the Cairo center from successful proposal and tender writing. Established relationships with companies and multinational organizations in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Lebanon to promote AMIDEAST's regional mission. Directed Cairo center operations, including recruitment of technical experts and consultants, formation and leadership of center program team, and led public relations and marketing initiatives. Wrote successful proposals for USAID and other donor-funded projects, including the Ford Foundation, the Mubarak Professional Development Organization/President’s Council, and the Institute for International Education. Organized and led regional conference in Cairo to initiate an on-going regional business expansion with AMIDEAST Country Directors. Coordinated communications and regional reporting between AMIDEAST HQ and Regional Country Offices, led virtual teams for business development, technical expertise in training and development, e-service development, and program design. Supervised volunteers, internships and fellowship programs. Mentored center staff development and education. Managed, trained and mentored potential training center directors in Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE, Tunisia and Yemen. Represented AMIDEAST in local task forces and meetings of chambers of commerce, NGO working groups, and donor meetings. Forged strategic alliances with multinational organizations and NGOs for program development. Managed team to develop AMIDEAST Egypt strategic plan based on the AMIDEAST HQ Strategic 5 Year Plan. Wrote AMIDEAST Egypt 2001 Annual Plan and set program goals for FY 2001.
