Responsible for the creation of the power system specifications (Generators, Switchgear, Transformers, Drives, Filters and Motors) and power system analysis. As Lead Engineer I also directed the work of the Automation and Dynamic Positioning Engineers in order to ensure that the complete system was successfully integrated.

Liaison EngineerAlstom Power Conversion Ltd (Now Converteam) Aug 1995 - May 1997As part of a US Navy program for incorporating Electrical Propulsion onto future Naval vessels ALSTOM went into partnership with Lockheed Martin in the US to bid for the IPS (Integrated Power System) Project. This was a Land Based development site incorporating portions of a complete power system including switchgear, harmonic filters, generators, propulsion converters and motors. As part of this program there was a requirement for ALSTOM to provide an engineer permanently at Lockheed Martin facilities in Syracuse, NY to act as the Power & Propulsion “expert” and provide guidance as well as interface to the UK.This role required heavy involvement with the customer and the US Navy along with the design work and monitoring of equipments being built in the US.
