Derek has worked in the investment consulting and pension plan management fields for over 20 years, advising investment committees of capital accumulation plans, defined benefit pension plans, target benefit plans, endowments, foundations, trusts and worker’s compensation funds.He has extensive experience in the areas of investment beliefs, investment policy, asset allocation, manager research and selection, portfolio construction, performance measurement and evaluation, record-keeper evaluation and selection, fund selection on record-keeper platforms, and researching various investment issues.Prior to joining George & Bell in 2017, Derek worked for over 14 years for a global consulting firm where he recently chaired the Canadian defined contribution committee and was a member of the Canadian investment consulting thought leadership team. He served as lead investment consultant for numerous institutional clients in Canada and the United States, and was the internal expert on investment-related issues pertaining to capital accumulation plans. His previous roles at the firm included membership in the investment manager ratings committee and manager of the investment analysts in Vancouver and Toronto.
