Experience includes the analysis of complex electrical control circuits, and investigation of losses resulting from improper control circuit design, faulty control programming, or improper control wiring and installation.Responsible for the analysis of traffic signal control equipment as it pertains to the reconstruction of accidents involving motor vehicles, pedestrians, or railroad equipment. Experience in this area includes the interpretation of traffic signal timings, evaluation of systems with respect to local and national codes and standards, and identifying issues stemming from equipment malfunction, improper programming, or inadequate maintenance.

Projects involved the certification of a wide range of products to various UL and international standards. Primary focus was in products related to fire and gas detection and notification (i.e. smoke/heat alarms and detectors [UL 217, UL 268, UL 521], CO and explosive gas alarms and detectors [UL 1484, UL 2034, UL 2075], and fire alarm horns, strobes, and speakers [UL 464, UL 1480, UL 1638, UL 1971]). Certification evaluations consisted of evaluating both the performance of products and their safety with respect to fire and shock hazards through testing and identifying unsafe product construction or operation. Project handling responsibilities included determining applicable testing, analyzing test data, and preparing detailed reports describing both the product in question and the testing conducted.

Responsibilities included programming, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting traffic signal equipment such as traffic controllers, traffic cabinets, and vehicle detection equipment. Experience included all phases of the traffic signal life-cycle, including the factory production process, installation and commissioning in the field, on-going maintenance, and end-of-life product replacement.
