Responsible for the management, direction, and co-ordination of the engineering activities to support New Product Introduction and sustaining work in instrument manufacturing to achieve continual improvement in efficiency and sustainabilityManage technical resources and mechanical team of 20 engineers. Taking a lead in early involvement on new product development and supervise all engineering activities with the R&D and other cross functional leaders to ensure smooth launches of new manufacturing technology/products into production on time.Participate in the design, development and testing of new instrumentation and tooling. Provide support to manufacturing to satisfy the quality and yield requirements for the existing products in a rapid growth environment.

Manage the 4-1 printer team (5 engineers from contract manufacturer) in development of the printer mech, mechanism, paper path, duplexer, and caseparts. Overall lead in integration of the auto document feeder/scanner assy onto the print mech, EE placement/wire routing/EMI&EMC troubleshooting, integration issue, and sustaining engineering.Key accomplishments- 1st generation Low cost, productivity 4-1 printer for the US/EAMER market. New 150 sheets pick system - 2nd generate Low cost, productivity 4-1 printer for the US/EAMER market. New duplexer mechanism - Manage NPI team to product transfer 5xxx and Puma/Opal to Primax site for production consolidation and cost saving - Co-work with the US team and delivered the first service station on the 5xxx printer- Implement an improved service station for the ESP printer with better performance

Lead the mechanical team (2 engineers) on the top mech of the printer (HP Inkjet 2600, HP DJ 120 CAD & GA, Troja 24” & 44”), consists of the carriage & impelling system, scan-axis structure, service station, Ebox, RIDS & ISS (ink system) and responsible for in-depth/ design study of the sub-system with engineer, costing and subsystem bench-marking, conceptual and mechanical testing (reliability and goal target), tooling and vendor selection & part qualification, and build manufacturing support to ensure smooth start-up for productionKey Accomplishments-lead and conceptualise on the top mech of the 24” & 44” printer with sub-system owner on the scan-axis manual PRS system, Ebox, Rollfeed, and primer.- Achieve the HP DJ 120 project ( D-size printer) to meet the stringent D size requirement and lead the output management design with cut-sheet & roll media feature -Design the HP inkjet 2600 project (B-size printer) carriage & impelling system, which achieve the tight spec on scan-axis life goal and pen locating tolerance for PQ.

Principal role is to lead the mechanical design and development of new display product. Activities are in-depth study of the competitive market and products, costing and design bench-marking of the product in the category, conceptual and product development for the 17" CRT monitor and the LCD monitor, mechanical testing and pilot-lot enhancement, and manufacturing support to ensure smooth start-up and productionKey Accomplishments:- Complete the pioneer project STESA 17" monitor, Classic and Premier in 7 months, from conceptual stage to final production- Lead the improvement on the reliability & environment testing from 65% to 90% - Completed the design on EMC shielding for C-tick and European market and the implementation

Lead the team in design and develop high quality performance power drill for the worldwide market within project schedule. The scope of role includes competitive bench-marking, conceptual development, product development, induction motor development, fan development, thermal management, testing and pilot-lot refinement and manufacturing support to ensure smooth start-up and market introduction. Other task includes:- Product testing and transfers from Italy on 1995, tooling management- Market research of end-user feedback on new product from South-East Asia - Testboard submission (UL45, IEC 745) quality support to customer service- Sustaining role for the 10mm repurcussion drill & 6mm drill productionKey Accomplishments:- Completed the pioneer project 'Eastern Star Drill' for China, Australia,Korea within 18 months.- Improvement in product yield from 75% to 95% and component yield from 60% to 90% on the heat-treatment of the helical gear, process control on the induction armature production- complete the project '6mm drill' for Asia & China market within 9 months.
