Derek Thomson has been with EVOS since 2011. Derek focuses on assisting wealthy families, trusts, corporations, and successful entrepreneurs with advanced asset management strategies. What distinguishes his program is the distinct advantage of not being tied to any single product or financial institution. This allows Derek to continually seek out the very best investment advisors, portfolio managers, private funds, investment research and traders to meet his client’s goals and objectives. Derek has been a financial professional for over 20 years. Prior to joining EVOS, Derek was at an investment management firm whereby he was the Vice President of the Asset & Wealth Management Group. He also served as a Vice President of a well-known financial planning firm for 14 years where he helped raise over $100 million in assets under management. Derek was a scholarship athlete and All-American lacrosse player at Duke University where he graduated with honors in 1993 receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Business Management. Derek has been married to his wonderful wife Leah for five years and has three beautiful children Connor, Megan Grace and Parker. When not spending time with his family, Derek is an accomplished lacrosse coach at Highland Park High School where in his first eleven seasons his team took home 6 Texas High School State Titles.
