• Led a team which operated an experiment to reduce emissions and increase efficiency in the combustion of various fuels including Jet A, methanol, vegetable oil, and others. • Independently researched, designed, and procured the parts for a new traverse system that is 40 times more accurate than our previous system. This traverse system carries and moves a probe which takes precise temperature and emission measurements.• Analyzed and compared our data with dozens of previous research papers to better understand our emissions and fuel efficiency.• Repaired malfunctioning equipment including thermocouples, an emissions analyzer, a fluid pump, and 100+ leaks from quick connects and gaskets.• Manufactured new components for a traverse system to improve vertical stability. Fixing these issues led to getting the offer to design an entirely new system.• Researched, proposed, and procured 40+ parts necessary to the lab from new propylene tanks for our blow torches to safety equipment. • Gathered quotes and RFPs for parts, lead times, and delivery confirmations. • Created designs and then machined multiple parts, using a wide range of tools and materials.
