As part of a large-scale data migration project, I analysed several dozen legacy finance-related apps written in Access VBA and .NET in order to plan the migration in stages of ledgers to a target Workday systemI also worked on a project to reconcile migrated data against pre-migrated data to ensure that reports functioned identically post-migration. My achievements included:• Analysing thousands of lines of code (VBA, SQL, .NET) to understand functionality in legacy apps and how they could be decommissioned and migrated in stages without impairing the remaining functionality• Running and analysing legacy apps in a test environment• Interviewing users and writing detailed documentation about current processes• Planning and writing up future processes and describing them in process diagrams• Analysing and reconciling disparate datasets using complex SQL queries and Excel

As part of a large-scale data migration project, I built an iterative process to migrate HR and Finance data from Oracle EBS (managed by Accenture) and other legacy systems via the intermediate stage of Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Storage/BigQuery) to the target stage of Oracle Cloud Fusion including Oracle HCM (managed by KPMG).Data entities within HR included Worker, Assignment, Payroll, Salary, Bank Details, Work Schedule, Absence, Supervisor and Emergency Contact data and within Finance included Customer, Fixed Assets, General Ledger and Accounts Payable data. My achievements included:• SQL script writing in Oracle and BigQuery (views, stored procedures and functions)• Analysis of numerous datasets across various subject areas within HR and Finance• Data mapping between source and target systems and updating of templates• Data cleansing, manipulation and creation of reports using SQL, Google Sheets and Excel• Incorporating feedback from target systems into the iterative process• Liaison with numerous stakeholders and subject matter experts

I worked on a number of automation and data analysis projects within a transformation team including:• automation of the creation of a set of monthly reports on network incidents that were emailed out to stakeholders using SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and Excel• automation of the creation of a set of daily reports on work orders that were emailed out to stakeholders using SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and Excel• creation of a prototype to replicate a subscription-based feed of data by analysing diverse sources of billing data in an iterative process using SQL Server and Excel• extracting relevant circuit data from thousands of CSV files using Python• automated loading of overnight data feeds using SSIS as part of a data migration project• ad hoc data analysis and reporting using SQL Server, Excel and Power BI as part of a data migration project

I contributed to the redress of billions of pounds in a high-profile automation project for a major retail bank with these achievements:• managing the running of a time-critical weekly batching cycle• technical developments to a large-scale automation process with SQL Server, T-SQL, Access, Excel, VBA and SSIS• managing the automation and delivery of weekly and monthly MI reports with Power BI, Excel VBA and SQL scripting• delivering one-off MI reports involving an investigative approach to a large body of data using SQL scripting• developing file transfer tools using MS Office and VBA• relationship building and requirement gathering with internal and external stakeholders

I developed databases, analysed complex and large datasets (one million rows) and delivered regular MI reports with the following projects:• a project to divest RBS branch offices to a potential buyer• a KYC/KYB/AML project to remediate 4000 Shipping customers• a project to identify incorrect LIBOR rate charges on loans (analysing one million rollovers)• a project to refund customers who had been charged the incorrect transaction amount on their LIBOR loans (analysing one million rollovers)• automation of a submission to the Asset Protection Agency• a number of other remediation projects with the ultimate aim of refunding customers
