Served as the primary engineer designing an event-driven Customer Data Platform utilizing AWS resources to replace a third party solution. Developed Java and Kotlin event driven microservices enabling marketing campaigns targeting current and potential customers by driving user and click event data into Customer Data and Marketing Platforms. Developed and integrated custom Typescript functions with a Customer Data Platform that transformed and enriched customer events to empower marketing teams with aggregated and segmented customer data driving email campaigns and increasing customer engagement. Manager/Tech Lead of a team for Capital One’s enterprise account servicing platform. Led the team in designing and implementing a Spring Boot based micro service pattern used to dismantle a server side monolith. Empowered the team to explore and implement a Docker container and CICD pipeline solution for the micro services. Guided the team in designing and implementing a Maven archetype with Spring Boot 2 and Docker that minimizes the boilerplate code enabling teams in rapidly building micro services. Worked with dev-ops teams to plan and execute a new release strategy that supported our micro services. Influential in replacing a legacy caching system with AWS ElastiCache.

Designed and oversaw the implementation of a proof of concept node.js/typescript RESTful API to serve as a base for a feature toggle application. As a senior engineer influenced the design and implementation of micro services to feed a UI to help users set and track money management goals. Designed and implemented the first iteration of an API to enhance A/B testing on the website by providing insight into current customer products types.

Designed and developed an application to synchronized LDAP Users and Groups to the Appian platform. Developed a plugin in Java for the Appian platform to provide custom functionality that replicated LDAP Groups within the Appian environment.Project tech lead to enhance an application with Spring Framework, convert ANT build scripts to Maven and update SQL stored procedures. Re-factored the application to replace Stateless Session Beans with Spring managed beans.Pushing innovation, designed and developed a solution that leveraged an existing code base, a BPM platform (Appian), and third party software.
