I get excited listening to leadership and personal growth podcasts and books while I exercise. Along with a relentless work ethic, I am a creative person who enjoys problem solving and troubleshooting. My mission when I get up every day is to serve others well. In order to excel in two different jobs over the past 8 years I have become an expert in being efficient with my time.I bring with me the experience of a classroom teacher who had to build systems to manage 300+ students a year. I took over a failing AP program in 2015 and made it the top performing AP program in the second largest school district in Michigan with 5 years. Desiring to have a greater impact outside my classroom, I was hired to be President of the Michigan Council on Economic Education (MCEE). We focus efforts on teacher professional development and student competitions to increase economic decision making and financial wellness among Michigan K-12 students. I had the amazing experience of being the lead writer for the K-12 Michigan State Standards in Economics. I continued to look for ways to impact others and was elected to serve as a Council Representative on the Executive Board of the National Association of Economic Educators (NAEE). I was able to utilize my tech abilities to redesign and streamline many organizational processes and was named a NAEE Rising Star before being elected by my peers to serve as President of the organization. While I have received many awards such as the EIFLE National Teacher of the Year, I am most proud that many University professors, Federal Reserve economic educators, and Council Directors from around the country elected a high school teacher to lead their organization.
